Brimley, MI – The Bay Mills Community College (BMCC) is proud to invite the public to a celebratory Pow Wow  on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

The event will be held at the Ojibwe Charter School Gymnasium, located at 12099 W Lakeshore Drive in Brimley, promising a day filled with vibrant cultural traditions.

Serving as the Host Drum for the event will be Summer Cloud. They will be joined by other invited drums, including Big River, Warrior Bear, and Wolf Cloud.

The Pow Wow will feature two Grand Entries, at 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm, where all dancers will enter the arena in a spectacular display of regalia and unity. The schedule includes a dinner break at 4:30 pm, with a meal provided by the Pow Wow Committee for all attendees.

A highlight of the event will be the Dance Specials, with competitions offering prizes for three winners in each category for ages 16+. Categories include Men's Traditional, Grass, and Fancy Feather, and Women's Traditional, Jingle, and Fancy Shawl. For the younger generation, ages 0-15, they will receive Day Zhoonya (day money). The evening will also be feature a community Round Dance Exhibition.

The event will be guided by Head Veteran Jacques LeBlanc and Arena Director Kevin Syrette; and Head Dancers Ira Frank, Michelle Reed, Jackie LeBlanc, and Jayla Frank.

Vendors are welcome to set up in the cafeteria (no set ups in hallways). Vendor spots will be "first come, first serve," and vendor fees will be a donation for a spot dance. Vendors may only use one table. Arrival time for vendors is TBA. Vendors may reach out to Candice at [email protected] for questions.
