BRIMLEY, MI — The community is warmly invited to an evening of cultural celebration, teachings, and togetherness. The annual Round Dance will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, beginning at the Ojibwe Charter School.
This cherished event is more than a dance - it's a healing social gathering, a time for storytelling, and a celebration of community. The evening will weave together traditional teachings, a shared feast, and ceremony, creating space for all ages to connect.
Event Flow: An Evening of Protocol & Celebration

4:30 PM | Round Dance Teachings by Bud Daywayigan Day
Held at the the BMCC Lower Level (12214 W Lakeshore Dr). A vital opportunity for both new relatives and seasoned dancers to understand the significance, stories, and protocols of the Round Dance. -
Followed by | Community Feast
The feast will be hosted at the BMCC Lower Level (12214 W Lakeshore Dr), nourishing attendees for the evening ahead. Signs will be posted in the buillding directing towards the Lower Level.

7:00 PM | Pipe Ceremony
Held at Ojibwe Charter School (12099 W Lakeshore Dr). A ceremony to open the second half of the evening. -
Followed by | Singing & Dancing
Held at Ojibwe Charter School (12099 W Lakeshore Dr). The gym will come alive with the heartbeat of the drum and the sound of moccasins on the floor as everyone joins hands in the circle.
Honoring the Voices: Featured Drum & Leadership
We are deeply grateful for the knowledge holders and singers guiding the evening. The event will be emceed by Bud Daywayigan Day, who will also provide teachings. Serving as Stickman is Jose Santos-McCauley.

A limited number of vendor tables are available on a first-come, first-served basis. A spot dance donation is the vendor fee, vendor tables will be provided, and vendors are limited to one table.
