Accounting Program

Certificate of Completion

The Certificate of Completion in Accounting at Bay Mills Community College provides students with hands-on experience in the principles and practices of financial accounting. Students learn to record, classify, and summarize business transactions using both manual methods and modern accounting software such as QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel. Coursework emphasizes the complete accounting cycle—from journal entries to financial statements—while reinforcing accuracy, ethics, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Practical assignments mirror real-world operations in small businesses, nonprofit organizations, and tribal enterprises. Students gain skills in payroll processing, bank reconciliation, and financial reporting, preparing them for entry-level accounting roles. Graduates of the Certificate of Completion in Accounting may continue their studies through BMCC’s Associate of Arts in Business Administration or Bachelor of Science in Business Administration programs.
