Seven Local High Schools Explore Opportunities at Bay Mills Community College During Special Campus Visit
BMCC welcomed students and staff from seven regional high schools to campus for an immersive day of exploration and learning. The visiting schools included Brimley Area School, Malcolm High School, Ojibwe Charter School, Pickford Public School, Rudyard Area School, Sault Area High School, and Tahquamenon Area School, with students touring BMCC’s facilities, engaging with instructors, and experiencing firsthand the opportunities available at the college.
The event provided attendees with an inside look at BMCC’s academic programs, including hands-on presentations from faculty in key areas such as Early Childhood Education, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Construction Technology, Anishinaabe Language, Social Science, Nursing, STEM, Exercise Science, and Liberal Arts.
Students also had the chance to meet Gilly Gnoozhe, BMCC’s spirited mascot, enjoy a complimentary lunch, and take home exclusive BMCC swag.
Before departing, attendees entered a drawing for a special door prize, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day. The visit underscored BMCC’s commitment to fostering connections with local schools and inspiring the next generation of learners.
